How can you show the thrill and slight nausea of a fast offroad ride with high speed and drift inserts to a large audience? Together with Snook and Thyssenkrupp Bilstein, we created the 360° Drift Simulator. Whiplash trauma included.
Six cameras, a lot of measurement data and several full hard drives later, we had everything we needed to meet the challenge.
Thanks to VR technology and a motion platform, interested people could take a seat in the car as co-drivers and really feel the spinning tires. With the complete body you felt the ride and got such an emotional and fun experience that you won't be forgotten so quickly.
A realistic driving physics in combination with the appropriate technology created a unique drift experience that makes reality competition. I was responsible for the complete pipeline of the 360° production, from editing to stitching and color grading. It turns out that it feels great to be the next DK.
